Welcome

Hello! Welcome to bryanyeager dot com. If you were one of the literally dozens of people to visit this URL over the past several years, you came across some variation of this simple landing page explaining who I am, where I work, what I love, and how to connect with me:

So long, old friend.

As often happens in life, the intention of doing something more substantial with this site was never really followed through with the effort. I kept making minor updates to the landing page as warranted, renewing the domain name and hosting provider each year, and all the while tinkering on this more dynamic site in the background.

What changed? Why now? Well, for the first decade-plus of my career as an analyst, I had a lot of different avenues and outlets to share my perspectives: research for the clients of the firms I worked at, blogs and articles in trade media, press quotes, webinars, presentations, et cetera. Now, my current line of work — though satisfying — is primarily internal-facing. Yet I still feel like I have something to say and I’m starting to yearn for a more public outlet.

Putting up a personal blog in 2020 also seems kind of quaint when everyone else is starting a Substack newsletter or dishing out endless hot takes on Twitter to build a following. I certainly don’t begrudge those paths, but I do think there’s a great deal of value in having true ownership one’s content and personal brand in the age of the platform.

Setting low expectations to start, for you and for myself. We’ll see how it goes. More TK.
